  • GEO. S. POWELL, President. DR. C. P. AMBLER, Sec. and Treas. Appalachian National #arfc Association Mt^jJUdL^ artWttflle, B. C, Sept. 10th, 1901. To the President and Members of the Appalachian Nat'l Park Ass'n; Following the last annual meeting held in Asheville on February 5th, 1901, your Secretary complied with the instructions of the meeting and notified such gentlemen as were elected to positions of their election. Since that meeting the Executive Committee have held but two meetings; on February 27th, and June 22nd. But two meetings were held for the reason that since Congress adjoixrned last year there has been no pressing work which required frequent meetings of yoiiir Kxecxx- tive Committee. The interest of those who have given their time and attention to our cause has in no way abated and we now have to report that our caxxse has brighter prospects than ever. In February, the date of the last meeting, we had a naid up membership of 153, while those who hamj. signified their willingness to assist us but had never furnished funds nxaabered 384, To-d.ay we have a paid up membership of 163 and a mailing list of &l4,p*^ /P// Since our annual report was made we have not had much literature printed bxxt have continued to send oxit as the occasion arose, such printed matter as we had on hand. Letters have been dictated by your Secretary to the number* of 248, making a total of 1458.
