Numbers of times he has been compelled tc write letters flm. reply tc inquiries received where if the Xssociation would furnish funds for the printing of literature thj j work could be greatly simplyfied. A year ago the Association voted a small sum toward the employment of a stenographer. This expenditure has been continued for the reason that the large number of letters to be answered, the filing of clippings, the assembling and mailing of literature, the compilation of literature, the keeping of accounts and the many other details necessary have multiplied to such an extent that without assistance your Secretary could not carry out the same as the good Of the cause demanded. During the past month a stenographer has been employed on a average of about one half the day upon Park work and in as much as the present stenographer has been constantly employed in our office since this Park matter started and is able to render great assistance in the work, we certainlv feel that the Association should show, same appreciation * AA * * of the services renderedJy $**> <^-^^t^r*j^M»., The prospects of the Appalachian National Park Associa -tion are brighter than ever before. Secretary Wilson when in Asheville gave it as his opinion that the coming session of ^COng- ress would be the time to strike and he further stated that if tlae cause was ever to be successful, it ''would be successful this winter. We Relieve that if the Southern Senators will stand together, as __4__
