Matthew Howard

Portrait of Howard posing with his tinted glasses. These are significant, as he says they, "are a deliberate part of my persona. They are prescription, I see better with than without them. It offers me a barrier when I need to be standoff-ish, while adding visual distinctiveness." He moved to Asheville in 1999 because he hated New England, and the city called to him. He stays because he loves it. He could possibly leave if he received a good job offer, and joined the project because, "Everybody's doing it."
