Page.. NORTH CAROLINA PARK COMMISSION ABSTRACT OF WILL 1. A verbatin copy of that part of the will affecting the lands abstracted is required. 2. Set forth in detail all items of the will bequeathing money legacies, or placing any specific charge upon the land, and following abstract of the will, give all proof contained in the record of the payment of such legacies, and the satisfaction or removal of such charges. 3. A detailed outline of all petitions, orders and decrees relating to the estate from the time of probate of will and qualification of executor until final discharge, must be shown. 4. Such excerpts from the probate proceedings must be shown on this and immediately following pages, and in chronological order. 5. Always show whether or not testator left a widow, and show that her dower right has been barred by acceptance of a devise in lieu of dower, by participation in a division of the estate or in some other manner. i. I, Robert L0ve of the town of Waynesville in the County of Haywood in the State of North Carolina, being at this time in reasonable, and of sound and disposing mind, and memory, thanks be to the giver of all blessings for his kind and tender mercies to me. But calling to mind the morality of my body and believing that it is right and necessary for all men (as the Good Book saith) to their household and all their worldly concerns in order in order at a time when they are the most capable and now under this conviction I do make, ordain., arid publish this and this only to be my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say first I give soul to Almighty God who first gave it to me and my body to the earth to be decently buried, and as to my worldly estate I give and bequeathe it in the following manner to wit: First, I Give, devise, and bequeathe to the children of my oldest son, Thomas D. Love, now deceased, and to their All cases and authorities relied upon to cure any defect in this instrument or proceedings thereon or to support any proposition of law must be cited, and short excerpts made therefrom. Members of the Love family were prominent land holders in western North Carolina. Thomas Love (1765-1844), was a politician and land speculator whose holdings exceeded 6,000 acres of land, some of which would be purchased for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. His older brother, Robert Love (1760-1845) was a Revolutionary War veteran, surveyor, businessman and considered to be the founder of Waynesville. These documents are in the Love Family Papers in the archives of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
