We have in the Southern Appalachian m«ptn&ains immense tracts of virgin forests and probably no point in ttt* country offers more advantages from the point of the camper and *#m*ist than does western. North Carolina, The Adlrondacks have, as you say, had their day and the railroads, the numerous hotels, the dude, and fashionable watering places have multiplied there to such an extent that those stio actually love the woods must seek other grounds. Prom the standpoint Of game we cannot offer what they' can in the north for the reason that we cannot secure any p?«s« laws in the South, A few years ago m had plenty of deer, but to-day they are scarce. *fi still have plenty of birds, quail, pheasants and wild turkey, while our trout streams cannot be beaten.
