As I told you on way back I stopped Canton saw Mr, Damtoft at Champion Fibre Co's office asked about Porter Gap, he said sure we have and I will give you exact location of that Gap, then pointed out on large map here it is. I told him I knew that lacation but I like to know some written records or document or survey reports etc., which I can locate on map, so he picked up maps, survey reports, field notes etc., showed me exactly what I wanted. In an unsigned letter to Horace Kephart on January 20, 1931, on letterhead from Asheville Photo Company and including the names of George Masa and Don Topping, Kephart is informed that the letter writer stopped by to see Mr. Damtoft at Champion Fibre Company in Canton to obtain information on various locations in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
