  • - 2 - Everyone is much interested in Marnie’s plans and all are planning another combined assault on Boonville. I’m afraid I’ll be out of the running if the wedding is on June 11 because I have to be in Oklahoma that week and wont get back until the 12th or 13th. If the wedding is on the 18th I’d be there with bells on but I’d have to miss it on the 11th. Last night I was going through my desk and found some old letters that I wrote to you way back in 1902 and 1903. One was from the Angus’ when George and I spend the 4th of July up on their farm. The other wa from Dayton written in August 1906. I had forgotten that I paid a second visit to Dayton when I was 14 years old. I must have gone from Ithaca because we were certainly living there then but I have no recollection of it. Strange that I should forget such an event which must have been a major adventure at the time. It must have been the last time that I saw Grandpa and Grandma Kephart for he died not long afterward. Well, those are things That is xx are both bad and good for one to remember. I’ve never been able to make up my mind whether sentiment is a help or a hindrance. Obviously the most contented people are those who think of nothing but today and of no one but themselves. But it certainly would be a x harsh world if every- one did that. So I guess we should all do our share of thinking back. (Right here the doorbell rang and it was George and Pauline. So I spoke of them just in time). Its 1 to now and I’ll have to get to bed. Please tell Barbara that George and I will go over the papers she sent sometime this week and send her our version of them for what it is worth. Neither of us, I’m afraid, is very good at advise on matters of that kind as its out of our experiance [sic] butwe [sic] will do our best. I hope that spring has come to Boonville and that you have by now had some balmy weather. Its fine down here now - the one time of the year when Washington is really nice. Lots of love from all
