Dear Sir:- Your letter to the Governor has been referred to me for reply. I also return the letters requested. The Bill referred to by Senator Tate and Delegate Feath- erstone passed the Legislature and was approved by the Governor Feb. 15th, 1901, and reported in the acts of the extra session on page 274. You can get a printed copy of this act by writing to the Clerk of the House of Delegates . This Bill gives the "consent of the State of Virginia to the acquisition by the U. S., by purchase or gift, or by condemnation according to law, of such land in Virginia as in the opinion of the Federal Government may be needed for the establishment of such a National Forest Reserve in this region, provided, etc., etc. Yours truly, G.
