  • July 8, 1945 Dear Leonard- It surely was good to hear your voice, even without any television. We all wish you all could envision yourselves to us this Summer. I, for one, am not counting on it, in line with the philosophy, that when you don’t expect nothing, you can’t be disappointed. Your talk inspired Myrtle’s mother- Mrs. Wheeler- to ask me to ask you, if anything can be done to get rid of “5 leaf ivy.” It is coming under the fence from a neighbor’s yard to overrun the W’s garden.
