  • Dec. 27 1936 Dear Leonard- Have just finished a long letter to the Dunklers & am writ [sic] out. So won’t try to answer your good welcome letter now. Yesterday I sent you 12 copies of the Cherokees to us [sic] as you please. The Triangle Book Store in Ithaca was the only place there that would take them except on commissions. I.K. says “don’t sell on commission. Don’t weaken on this.” I think he is right. No one has “exclusive rights” but I refer Ithaca people who ask- if any!- to the T.B. store & Asheville to the Brown Book Corporation, who sent for two copies at once & have sent for 4 more. The Smithsonian sent for one- Knoxville Tenn. Library for 2- N.C. Indian Service 12- I.K.’s 2 doz to use as Christmas cards to some customers- numerous single copies. If you want more send to Lucy. The bulk of them are stored
