comes the lucky part: the man who speaks with Athena, & the only one who speaks with her, is the King of Thoas played by a man with a voice between a clap of thunder & the crack of doom, and the two active contestants for the role had high soprano voices, so that when he finished speaking they couldn’t be heard at all! Of course my old fog--‐horn swarmed out as usual so that it sounded like we were having a hog--‐calling contest. Harry said I could go and that I would hear the final results tomorrow (this morning). In a letter to her family, on June 20, 1935, Josephina Niggli writes about her audition for a role in a theater production at Chapel Hill. She expresses her excitement for getting through the first round of try-outs for the role of Iphigenia. Later Niggli writes that she found the time to see the film "The Scarlet Pimpernel."
