CHARLEY'S CREEK SCHOOL CHARLEY'S CREEK SCHOOL A one-teacher school building in a terrible condition. The interior was very much in keeping with the exterior. It was very hard to heat in winter. In fact, all seats had to be placed very close to the stove on cold days. This building was abandoned in the spring of 1952 WOLF CREEK SCHOOL The Wolf Creek School, like all the other Canada School buildings, was a small one-teacher school. This building was abandoned in the spring of 1952. TENNESSEE GAP As illustrated by the picture this also was a very poor or inadequate school situation. This building was also used for church purposes. The building was abandoned in the spring of 1952. WOLF CREEK SCHOOL TENNESSEE GAP ROCK BRIDGE SCHOOL This was the best building in the Canada School District. However, the building was very hard to heat. There were no modern equipment nor conveniences. There was nothing to inspire children to higher ideas and ideals. This building was abandoned in the spring of 1952. SOLS CREEK SCHOOL This was a one-teacher school. The building as the picture illustrates was a make-shift only. It was used for school during the week and a church on Sunday. The interior was probably in a worse condition than the exterior. This building was abandoned in the spring of 1952. ROCK BRIDGE SCHOOL SOLS CREEK SCHOOL THE CANADA CONSOLIDATED ELEMENTARY SCHOOL This building effected the consolidation of the five one-teacher schools in the Canada District into one unit. As illustrated by the picture, this is a modern building with modern facilities and equipment. It cost approximately $90,000. This building was first occupied in the autumn of 1952. It is located at the intersection of the Charley's Creek Road with the main Canada Road. m& •**?.;:.«* #
