S ■ THE QUALLA SCHOOL THE QUALLA SCHOOL This was a good building but too small. There was a very poor water system and no heating system with the exception of pot-bellied stoves with pipes run through windows for flues. THE QUALLA SCHOOL A deep-well water system was installed. Two classrooms with lavatory and rest room in the primary room were added. A new heating system servicing the entire building was installed. This project was completed in the autumn of 1952 at an approximate cost of $30,000. THE SAVANNAH SCHOOL Four classrooms were added to the original building. The primary room has drinking fountain, lavatory, and toilet. A dining room was made by using two of the original classrooms. (This latter was a school project). This project was completed in the autumn of 1952 at an approximate cost of $33,500. THE SAVANNAH SCHOOL This was a good building but inadequate. Some of the original classrooms had been divided by partitions which made the classrooms far too small. The kitchen was entirely too small. There was no dining room at all.
