C Camp Stewart, Ga., and Camp Gordon, Ga. Served in European Theatre. Citations or medals: EAMET Campaign, American Theatre, Defense, Good Conduct, and Combat Infantry Badge. Discharged July 4, 1945. PFC. J. B. STIWINTER, Erastus, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Stiwinter and husband of Lela Stiwinter. Inducted Dec. 29, 1943. (85th Infantry Div. in Italy.) Trained at Fort McClellan, Ala. Served in European Theatre. Received the Presidential Unit Citation. Discharged Oct. 29, 1946. PVT. WILL I. STIWINTER, Erastus, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Stiwinter and husband of Margie Stiwinter. Inducted Mar., 1942. Trained at Fort Claiborne, La., and Fort Bragg, N. C. Served in American Theatre. Discharged Apr. 6, 1943. G. M. 2/c D. M. TALLENT, JR.. Sylva, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Tallent, Sr. Inducted Dec. 24, 1942. Trained at Bainbridge, Md., Little Creek, Va., and Solomons, Md. Citations or medals: European-African Area with 2 Stars, Victory, American Area, Good Conduct, and Asiatic-Pacific with 1 Star. Took part in invasion of Sicily, served on L. C. T. 153 ferrying supplies to front lines; received commendations in Aug., 1943, for getting heavy mechanized eguipment around demolished bridges and tunnels, even going behind enemy lines in the darkness; later he participated in the invasion of France on L. S. T. 325. PFC. CHARLES B. TERRELL, Whittier, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Terrell. Inducted Dec. 4, 1942. Trained at Camp Lee, Va., Camp Forrest, Tenn., and Camp Shelby, Miss. Served in European Theatre. Citations or medals: EAMET Campaign with 2 Bronze Service Stars, and Good Conduct. Discharged Aug. 12, 1945. PVT. GUY KENNETH TERRELL, Sylva, N. O, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Terrell. Inducted in Air Corps Sept. 12, 1944. Trained at Sheppard Field, Tex., and Scott Field, 111. Served in American Theatre. Received the Sharpshooter Medal. Spent most of his time with Medical Corps at North Sector General Hospital. Hawaii. Discharged July 2, 1945. PFC. GEORGE ALFRED WATSON, Cullowhee, N. C, son of Mrs. Mollie Watson. Inducted Mar. 14, 1942. Trained at Fort Bragg, N. C. Served in Southwest Pacific Theatre. Citations or medals: American Theatre, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre with 2 Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation with 1 Bronze Star, and Victory.
