  • Court I shall visit Cheoah in company with [illegible] and John [illegible]. My object is to attend to the Business mentioned in one of your former letters, that is with [illegible] and others, a four days since I told [illegible] the substance of what you wrote with Regard to his claim, he said he would send you on a power of attorney to attend to it for him, I shall see him again in a few days and if it is not already done, will have it attended to, he said he would like very much to get the appointment of taking the census of the Cherokee in Georgia & Alabama, the business I have on hand is of such a nation that it is with difficulty that I can leave home, to attend to business in the country, The memorial you speak of sending me. [illegible] to a stage line through this [illegible] I should be happy to attend to it and wish how soon you would send it to me. Our friend [illegible] [illegible] how started to the far west a few days since I managed our Debts with him as well as I could I took the [illegible] John Place from him that is he gave me up the certificate and a quit claim [illegible] from him but I gave him no bond to pay the state my object was that I thought I could make the [illegible] of the place pay our debt, the plan is good
