living near Osceola Mills. Harvey H. and Esington Kephart, sons of David (my father’s oldest brother) live near Osceola Mills, and they have a brother Jacob B. Kephart living near Huntington Pa. Geo. Washington Kephart and Isaiah L. Kephart (sons of my father’s brother Andrew Kephart) live about 3 or 4 miles from Osceola Mills, on their father’s old farm, in what we used to call New Castle. Uncle William Kephart has several sons living in Kansas one of whom is deaf and dumb (caused by Scarlet fever when he was an infant) but I do not know their ad- dresses, one of them (the deaf one) is named Levi, another Henry S. and another George. I have received no answer from the sher- if of Miami Co., Ind. to whom I wrote for particulars respecting John Kephart who was murdered in MAy last. I did learn from a news paper that he was put in jail while drunk, and that

In this letter of October 29, 1888, I. L. Kephart writes his son Horace Kephart continuing to pass along genealogy information. He tells him of the Goss family, ancestors on his mother's side, and that the living descendants mostly are in Oceola Mills, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. Isaiah Kephart invites Horace to attend the Bigler camp-meeting in August to meet friends and see homes of his ancestors. He also tells Horace of his father's family, the Kepharts, including John Kephart who was murdered last May. Isaiah talks about Horace's sister Belle, how she is doing with school and her behavior.
