Description

Kaleb Lynch moved to Cullowhee in 2005 and discusses transitioning to a man while in college at Western Carolina University and living and working in Jackson County. He talks about the organizations available to him while at Western such as BGLAD, which became UNITY; Delta Lambda Phi, which was a source of friendships; and the Rainbow Room, group therapy supported by the counseling services. He talks about positive changes in Jackson County such as more acceptance and options for spiritual LGBTQ people in their places of worship, and also the negative impact the Trump presidency has had on the community. He gives advice to younger students coming to Western and exploring their identities.
