  • The cooking outfit is complete for three people (yourself, your partner, and a visitor, say), I believe it is hard to beat, as a practical kit, for the weight and bulk. With it you can cook anything mentioned in the rather extensive and varied array of receipts given in my "Camping and Woodcraft." The hatchet is the best steel made anywhere, and the best design of this siae. You can fell and log up a good sized tree with it, if you have time; yet the thing is light and can be carried in a pack sack. The knife is the best model I know as an all-round skinning and cooking implement. The compass is a hunting-case instrument that won*t get smasftxed, and you can read it at night. The match box is by all odds the best ever invented, I believe all of the articles on this list'are kept in stock by V.L.& W., except those marked A. & F. (Abercrombie & Fitch). So they should be able to get them together in a few days. Sincerely yours,
