  • In a letter to Horace Kephart on May 18, 1917, Harry C. Phibbs replies he did not see Mr. Robinson’s notes for “The Camper’s Own Book” in “Outdoor Life”. Mr. Phibbs sends Kephart one of his books and explains that World War I halted further printing.

Dear Sir:- Replying to your letter of the 15th inst., I would say that I did not see Mr. Robinson's notes of "The Camper's Own Book" in "Outdoor Life" but I was glad to receive your request anyway and am only too pleased to send you a copy of the book, under separate cover. I did not publish the book or sell it, but would ask you to accept this copy with my compliments. The Log Cabin Press, the publishers of this book, were making an annual of it out the war put a stop to this and I do not know whether they will resume the publication ufter the war or not. I am represented in the issue I am sending you by an article on Medical and First Aid Suggestions for the camper which I hope you will find of interest. I am returning your 50^, herewith, and if you figure that you owe me anything for the book, send me a copy of the next pamphlet you publish as I am always interested in reading any of your stuff on camp life.
