  • Club at Elkmont, while you proceed in a southerly direction along Uncle's new Sugarland Mountain trail. At a gap about one mile from the road, those who have had about enough may descend to Elkmont—a short, easy, down-hill mile. En route to the gap superb views, including one of Mount Le Conte, may be had,—an' that ain't all. At the "gap" the "chauffeurs" may join those who wish to go on up the mountain a piece (two or three miles) to a point where an old trail, on the right, descends to the river and road a couple or three miles above Elkmont. If this plan don't suit ye, we'll try again. Meanwhile, remember the weather is guaranteed! So long until October 21st, when, with "food and water for one meal," we'll be a-seein' ye at the Dixie System at 7:00 A. M. "We" are: H. M. JENNISON (2-3646) HELEN AKIN (2-8534) A bit of March lucked into fall, Blustering winds and high fleecy clouds. A dash of April, ■ hid a sky o' bluest amethyst, Colors—gold and blue and red— Foreign to spring. Quivering gundy leaves, A Romany gypsy horde; Dashing wildly, driven by a blast of wind Cold then warm A nip of frost, a furnace blast. Tog and ocean breeze! Turple haze and far off smoke— Winter's heraldry. Indian Summer—Minnie Meyer 45
