  • tion. To the south Gregory Bald and Thunderhead; on the north, the valleys of East Tennessee. If you go down the mountain a short distance to the south, one may see LeConte to the east. This is one of our most important meetings for the year. All members are urged to be present, and bring prospective members. Leave Dixie System at 5:30 P. M. for dinner, or 8:10 A. M. AND DOWN OVER BALSAM POINT AND BULL HEAD The trail taken on this trip to the summit of Mt. LeConte will be a new one, as this trail will have been completed only a few months previously by the National Park Service. This should be a trail that the most inexperienced hiker can follow, being an easy switch-back trail and if one does not feel equal to the more difficult descent over Balsam Point and Bull Head, the same trail may be followed back to "The Orchard." We will then have supper in the cabin, and retire early in the balsam boughs, as we must be up early the next morning if we wish to see one of those gorgeous sunrises from Myrtle Point (weather permitting). From Myrtle Point a long line of peaks can be seen spread out before us, including Mt. Chapman, Mt. Kephart, Mt. Mingus, Mt. Collins, Clingman's Dome, Siler's Bald, Thunderhead, and Gregory's Bald, while almost under us lies the practically unexplored Hug' 54
