  • Parks, and our entertainment of the 5th Annual Appalachian Trail Conference. The Club was organized during the infancy of the movement to establish the Great Smoky Mountains National bark, and has been closely identified, both as as a club and thru individual activities of its officers and members, with the Park movement. The history of the Club is that of continuous progress. Never has it been necessary to "force" its activities. The membership has been an interested and inspired group, working actively that greater numbers of people, at home and abroad, might know and enjoy the rare beauty and grandeur of our Great Smoky Mountains National Park. -II- Tse got a girl on the Sourwood Mountain She's so good and kind, She's broke the heart of many a poor fellow But she ain't broke this one of mine." Taken from "Sourwood Mountain", a Smoky Mountain Folk Song.
