  • Siler's Bald: On State line at junction of Welch Ridge and main divide. (1) See Appalachian Trail. (2) From Elkmont, Tenn., via Fish Camp Prong. Drive ears above Elkmont to remains of logging railway bridge, keeping right hand fork of one-way road. Hike starts at Fish Camp, above Elkmont. Trail crosses Fish Camp Prong many times, and then gradually ascends along Prong. I here is a short, steep pull to State line. On reaching mam divide, route follows Appalachian Trail 0 75 mile east to Siler's Bald. Distance, 6.5 miles. (3) Chambers Creek and High Rock. Follow Chambers^ reek, in N. ('., to High Rock; then along Weld. Ridge to Siler's Bald. Distance, from park boundary, which is about 1.0 mile south of High Rock, about 7 miles. Class H I rail; good, and fairly level. (4) Huggins 'Trail, via Forney Creek (best route). Drive, from N.C. #288, up Forney Creek road to about 1.5 John D. Rockefeller, jt
