Of course I am glad and happy to have him here any time, but the weather was so excruciatingly cold that, I was obliged to close the laboratory and leave the building. When the dear fellow comes I want to take him out, make collections and have him work them up in his own way in the laboratory. As I have said before and the thing for which I am so proud, is that God has given the dear fellow a remarkable mind, and with it he is such a dear sweet boy, He has just the qualities for a great, useful man. Since you and the Lord are partners in “Dick”, you must be very happy, because you have every reason to feel proud of your charge. You are like myself with reference to riches. I will never be rich I do not crave it, I am working for the same salary now that I got when I first came to the institution. I am “criticized” so much because I have turned down so many big offers, which I saw nothing in but a lot of money. I am sure God would not have blessed me as He has, and is if I had made money uppermost. I beleive I am blazing a trail
