Dear Madam: - Imagine my surprise yesterday where I received a package from the post office, opened it and found the 14 wonderful apples, all of which came so nicely. I could not help but shed a few tears as I looked at them and thought of the tenderness with which they were packed, the delicacy in their selection and the real Christ spirit behind it all. People all seem to be doing such nice things for me, I do not seem to be able to do anything for them commensurate with that they do for me. It is certainly true in this case. I had such a fine letter last evening from dear “Dick” he seems to be doing nicely, as I would expect him to do. I am saving some little helps for him. I thank God again and again that you insisted upon him returning to school, He wrote me that he thought it wise, (as all dutiful children do), to stay at home and help you with his Father, I told him to be guided by
