and hear that you was all well. I want you all to do the best you can and make all you can. We was talking when I was there about your coming under the War tax. I can inform you that your horses and other stock was taxed wrong and I would not pay it. Your stock ought not have been put in. I must come to a close soon for they are going to prepare to pack up for leaving. I want you to write as often as you can. I shall send money home the first good chance I have. We will get our pay today. I will get in all 33 dollars. I shall send about 28 home and do the best you can with it. Spend it if you can get any thing that is any account for it. One thing I can say, corn and wheat and meat is going to be any price you please to ask. I can inform you that Wm. and Tolliver has been sorter puny since they came to camp but they are both better. As f or me I feel excellent but I am ruther weak yet, though I feel well. There is just about as much fuss in camp all the time as there is at Rutherford on the nicer day at the election. I wrote a letter to [Maneil Culbreth?] a few days ago. I want you to see him and ask him if he had to pay any postage on the letter when he took it out of the office. If he did let me know and if you get any that the postage is not paid let me know it. So I must come to a close. You will not know whether to direct a letter to me any more until I write but if you Direct to Camp Mangum Raleigh 34 Regiment N.C. Volunteers in the care of Capt. Simmons it will come on to the Regiment and I will get it but send by hand if you can. Farewell G. J. Huntley
