  • This matted photograph was sent to Frances Goodrich from the Snavelys in Roanoke, Virginia, who shared Goodrich's interest in hand weaving. On the verso of the card is written: " - Dark blue - Red (wool) & white (cotton) - Very heavy - Wool spun & coverlet woven by Mrs. David Schnebley - Cambria County (near Johnstown) Pa. about the year - 1830. Property of Mr & Mrs J. C. Snavely, Roanoke Va. In first class condition today 11/22/17. Double weave coverlet." The photo was kept by Goodrich with other photographs of coverlet patterns. The name of the photographer is unknown.
