My dear Colleagues (Governor Gardner of North Carolina has named me as one of the delegates to represent North Carolina at the meeting of April 4th to consider the designation of the Park to Park Highway. I am one of the attorneys for the Horth Carolina Park Commission and on account of important matters toning up in court I find it impossible to attend. 1 wish, however, to express to yea my interest and, to some extent, my views In regard to this Highway. W«,arev of course, vitally interested in the designation of a route that will include Asheville and the Western North Carolina side of the Great Snokey Mountains National Park. I fool that a tourist desiring to visit the parks would naturally be interested in all areas having scenic attractions. Passing from the Shenandoah Park it seems to me that the route shodld cane through the Blowing Rock seotlon of w est era North Carolina and thenee to Asheville and from Asheville by way af Waynesville and 3ryson City into the Parte, and crossing the mountains over either the Ocona Lafta Road or the Deals' (Jap Road into Tennessee and thence by way of the Maraouth Gave Park. As my district includes a large part of the Western section of the state I have naturally a keen interest in this matter and feci sure it will have every consideration at your hands.
