  • Circular Letter to the Family (so far as I have present addresses) Bryson City, N. C. Feb. 16, 1929 Dear Folks: - As you will see form enclosed copy of notification from the U. S. Geographic Board, we Kepharts are now among the “Higher-ups.” At this same meeting of the Board a mountain in South Dakota was named for President Coolidge. Cal’s hill is only 6,000 ft. high; ours is 6,355. So we can’t help looking down on him; but let’s not be supercilious about it. I am recasting “Smoky Mountain Magic,” the novel I’m trying to perpetrate, and feel confident that it will hit a mark somewhere above ground level. Love to all of you. Dad.
