I wish to thank you gar these items. o Trusi that you will be on the lookout for other matter that we should have, I notice in the "Hearings on H.H. 11980"that you called attention to and had inserted in the record,a long letter from Horace £ephart in which he set out the desirability of the Smokies region for a national park. I tseems to me that this letter and the very pertinent facts set out in it must have had considerable weight in determining the location of the park as it'was being-considered at thatl time. I an wondering if you have* the" original of'-this letter, and would consider the idea of letting us have it for the museum? There is another item that I think we should have. That ie the original of the declaration of the Eockafellow Foundation, agreeing to donate funds on the 50-50 basis of funds . raised by the two.states-North Carolina and Tennessee. I do not knofe how to qo about getting hold of this document, but I think we should have it,don't you? bonder if you can make a suggestion? I wish to say to you thac we are making sore progress with-the project. Have actually .collected 400 or rriore objects, and have much rr,orc "in sight",that is we are in line .for it, and will get it at the vto'oqt time. For instance ,;.:r.
