I wish to thank you gar these items. o Trusi that you will be on the lookout for other matter that we should have, I notice in the "Hearings on H.H. 11980"that you called attention to and had inserted in the record,a long letter from Horace £ephart in which he set out the desirability of the Smokies region for a national park. I tseems to me that this letter and the very pertinent facts set out in it must have had considerable weight in determining the location of the park as it'was being-considered at thatl time. I an wondering if you have* the" original of'-this letter,and would consider the idea of letting us have it for the museum? There is another item that I think we should have. That ie the original of the declaration of the Eockafellow Foundation,agreeing to donate funds on the 50-50 basis of funds . raised by the two.states-North Carolina and Tennessee. I do not knofe how to qo about getting hold of this document,but I think we should have it,don't you? bonder if you can make a suggestion? I wish to say to you thac we are making sore progress with-the project.
