Dear Mr. Stupka* Confirming our earlier understanding by personal conversation as well as by letter through Mr. Charles E. Ray, representative of the Western Carolina Associated Communities, concerning the availability of the Horace Kephart and George Masa materials for the Smoky Mountains Park Museum, we the undersigned custodians and the official administrator of the books, manuscripts, maps, magazines, camping outfits, pictures, and other miscellaneous articles belonging to the estates of these two deceased men, agree to transfer and commit to you as the present custodian of the Park Museum all these effects as a loan subject to the following conditions: 1. That this loan shall become the property of the Park Museum as and when the Park Service provides suitable housing conditions meeting the approval of all the undersigned, which will require their written statement duly signed by each person whose name is herein given at the end of this letter* In case of the resignation or death of either of these persons,approval of their appointed successors will be recognized as official in authorizing full legal commitment of these effects to the Park Museum* 2. That the undersigned custodians and administrator of the effects belonging to the estates of Horace Kephart and George Masa shall have the right to secure the return of all articles included in this loan to the Park Museum at any time that in their judgment these articles are not being housed or cared for to the satisfaction of said custodians and administrator* Respectfully submitted, Approved: Administrator ^OUU^LA^l^y^
