  • * December 14th, 1901 Mr, w. wiiinrd Ashe, Consulting Forester, Raleigh, M. 0, My dear Sir:- Your favor of the 12th inst. in reference to your name appearing in the fourth edition of our "booklet is received, Tn preparing the M, S, for the fourth edition of our booklet X took a large hatch of letters which we had received from friends of the movement and marked certain paragraphs in these letters which I wished to use and placed the same in the hands of the printer. Among these, letters so turned over to the printer was one from you dated November 22nd, 1900, Washington, D, C, in 'Vhich appeared the paragraph for which we have given you credit in our booklet. This Xtttff was written on the letterhead of the II, S. Dpt. of Agricultiire, Rpt. of Forestry, Washington and dated Washington, and it was an oversight on my port not to have changed the Washington, D, C, as 1 well knew you were located at Raleigh.n I can only apologise for the mistake having occurred and tassure you that i£ we bring out another is- s\;e of the booklet the same will be corrected, Shanking you for having called the same to our attention and trusting that we rnuy still continue to receive your co-operation said support, I am, Yours very truly, Secretary.
