Ambler, Secretary Parks and Forestry Committee , Asheville, N. C. . Dear Sir:- I am gratified to learn that your people are giving shape and form, to tlis movement for a National Park in North Caro-; Una. I do not believe there is a more salubrious or healthful - region than this in the whole country. This year I passed a ..delightful spring and summer there and enjoyed the pure air,, and'a clea/r running streams that abound in that region. I do not believe that it is generally known to the people of the North tll|,t lithe climate in xhat section of the Blue Ridge Mountains i#s cool afid bracing throughout the summer. I think it is peculiarly fine8 0s a summer resort, though I believe our people go there mostly in winter. The atmosphere throughout the summer is pleasant 'at:' night and cool and invigorating by day. Not the least of its » many charms is found in its magnificierrt forests which cover u X the mountain sides so that they are literally clad in living green. In a few years, unless you do something to preserve them, these trees will be found too valuable to be left standing and will be "cut away to supply the ever increasing demand, for and £^ diminishing supply of that essential article. With such a change
