OF GRAVES: (Our Records) - 115; (Trout's Records) - approximately 102 LAST BURIAL: (Our Records) - Late 1940's; (Trout's Records) - 1969 DESCRIPTION: (Our Records) - On Park Tract No. 218 conveyed to State by trustees of Palmers Chapel M. E. Church, deed recorded 20 December 1929, in Book 81, page 77, conveys 1.47 acres (church lot and cemetery) but contains no reservations of cemetery. Maintained by relatives with minimum maintenance assistance by National Park Service (weed cutting once annually). Fenced. (Calhoun's Records) - South District (Haywood); Deed No. 4; File No. Vol. 7; P4. Not listed in Notice of Assumption of Jurisdiction. (Trout's Records) - Structure No. C125. Cemetery is enclosed by woven wire fence in poor condition. Cemetery is in fairly good condition but needs raking, mowing and some seeding and fertilizing. Several gravesites need leveling and some of the markers need straightening and stabilizing. Path from area of Palmers Chapel to cemetery is passable but needs brushing, clearing of several fallen trees and limbs. Cemetery has been decorated within the last year.
