Wilkesboro N.C. May 7, 1887 Jas. W. Terrell Esq. Murphy NC Dear Sir: I can get Miners + Planters Bk. Murphy enough to pay bal. purchase money [soorterer] of Land in Graham Co. bought of the W. H. Thomas estate but it will cost me double what the other lot did and more than I recd. for it. This being the case I wrote my Attoy. Col. Rolen, asking him to enquire whether you would raise the price to 75₵ on the 1.00 but he misunderstood me + put the question wrong and I now write to ask it my self. Please write me distinctly what I can get in the way of the land for $600. to $800. bills M+P. Bk. as above in settlement + also say what times shall have to present them Respectfully Yours Calvin J.
