  • Gen Ranson sent in to our Regt for curiers the Maj was in command the Col being absent the Maj called me in to his tent and asked me if I did not want to be a curier for Ransom I told him I did he said he would do all he could for me I went and talked to Capt about it he said it would be a very nice thing and to pich in he then called Hade Hyatt in to his his tent and persuaded him to go and he agreed to it and then Cathey went to the Maj a told him that Hyatt was all the man from his company that wanted to go and the Maj of course recamended him to the gen and that nacked me of getting it thats the way the damd scoundrellorls is all was treaing [?] me and I will have reveng out of him at _______ in the attempt sooner or later but say nothing about this I may get a curiers place yet from Mat Ran som when he gets his Staff made up and if I do I will get a furlow of some 30 days to go home and get me a horse Dorothy I think y you migh write occasionally I know you have that much time you ________ Kiss all the children for me and tell them to be good children ________ but rem ans your affectionately sone and Brother Ben F E I dont think they will shoot [?] them The Inman Boys has not had their trial
