  • The four-page brochure, “Basketry by Julia Taylor” was produced in conjunction with an exhibition of Taylor’s baskets at Qualla Arts and Crafts Mutual, Inc. in Cherokee, North Carolina. Julia Ann Ned Taylor (1902-1991), a member of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians, was known for making ribbed white oak baskets. The exhibit of her work was held in 1970, from November 30 through December 31. Sponsored, in part by the Indian Arts and Crafts Board, the series of exhibit brochures were reprinted and bound together in 1987 as “Contemporary Artists and Craftsmen of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians: Promotional Exhibits, 1969-1985” by Mollie Blankenship and Stephen Richmond.
