Art Possibilities in Western North Carolina
Item
Item’s are ‘child’ level descriptions to ‘parent’ objects, (e.g. one page of a whole book).
-
This article entitled "Art Possibilities in Western North Carolina" was written by Lydia A. Bancroft and published in the January 1926 issue (vol.2, no.4) of the "Cullowhee State Normal Bulletin." Bancroft looks at the conditions which make western North Carolina an excellent site for the development of a national art style, one that is based on the traditional crafts created in the region. Mentioned are Allanstand Cottage Industries, Biltmore Industries, and the work on the Cherokee Reservation as examples of craft development and education.
