Adolph Sivenson to Horace Kephart, June 17, 1898

  • In this letter of June 17, 1898, Adolph Sivenson writes Horace Kephart that he read about Kephart’s Sharpshooter organization in the publication "Shooting and Fishing." He describes his physical characteristics and hunting experience. Sivenson states that he has a Winchester Model-95 repeater 30 and knows a little of the McLeary drill.
  • Hallock Minn June 17 1898 Mr. Horace Kephart St. Louis Mo. Dear Sir! Having read, in Shooting and Fishing, about your Sharpshooters organization would like to join the same. I am 25 years old height in stocking feet 5 feet 9 in. weight 170 lbs. have for 6 years hunted all kinds of game found in [] Minnesota and Manitoba, from a jack snipe to the Canada Moose, have for the two years used the Winch. Model-95 repeater 30. U.S.A. cartridges also know a little about McLeary drill. if I can fill a place in your battalion would be glad to do so. Yours very truly, Adolph Sivenson
