Jan, 19, 1870 Jas. W Terrell [illegible] Dear Sir: Yours of the 10th inst is to hand & contents duly noted. I shall be short as I write from a sick bed where I have been confined for some time. I will say to you in confidence that I am of opinion that much trouble is in store for Mr. Thomas and Mr. Johnson. I have had two interviews with the Sec. of the Interior & the Com. Of [illegible] [illegible]. The Sec. of Interior told me that he was going to prepare a resolution and denied that I should introduce it in the House to enable him though the [illegible] to bring suit in the United States court against Thomas and
